8:9 하맛 왕 도이가 다윗이 하닷에셀의 온 군대를 쳐서 무찔렀다 함을 듣고
8:10 도이가 그의 아들 요람을 보내 다윗 왕에게 문안하고 축복하게 하니 이는 하닷에셀이 도이와 더불어 전쟁이 있던 터에 다윗이 하닷에셀을 쳐서 무찌름이라 요람이 은 그릇과 금 그릇과 놋 그릇을 가지고 온지라
8:11 다윗 왕이 그것도 여호와께 드리되 그가 정복한 모든 나라에서 얻은 은금
8:12 곧 아람과 모압과 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람과 아말렉에게서 얻은 것들과 소바 왕 르홉의 아들 하닷에셀에게서 노략한 것과 같이 드리니라
8:13 다윗이 소금 골짜기에서 에돔 사람 만 팔천 명을 쳐죽이고 돌아와서 명성을 떨치니라
8:14 다윗이 에돔에 수비대를 두되 온 에돔에 수비대를 두니 에돔 사람이 다 다윗의 종이 되니라 다윗이 어디로 가든지 여호와께서 이기게 하셨더라
8:15 다윗이 온 이스라엘을 다스려 다윗이 모든 백성에게 정의와 공의를 행할새
8:16 스루야의 아들 요압은 군사령관이 되고 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 사관이 되고
8:17 아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉은 제사장이 되고 스라야는 서기관이 되고
8:18 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 관할하고 다윗의 아들들은 대신들이 되니라

8:9 하맛 왕 도이는, 다윗이 하닷에셀의 온 군대를 쳐서 이겼다는 소식을 들었다.
8:10 그는 자기의 아들 요람을 다윗 왕에게로 보내서 문안하게 하고, 다윗이 하닷에셀과 싸워서 이긴 것을 축하하게 하였다. 하닷에셀은 도이와 서로 싸우는 사이였다. 요람은 은과 금과 놋으로 만든 물건을 많이 가지고 다윗에게로 왔다.
8:11 다윗 왕은 이것들도 따로 구별하여서, 이미 정복한 모든 민족에게서 가져온 것에서 따로 구별하여 둔 은금과 함께 주께 바쳤는데,

8:10 아들 하도람을 다윗왕에게 보내어 문안하고 하다데젤을 쳐서 이긴것을 축하하게 하였다. 도이는 하다데젤과 적대관계에 있었던 것이다. 하도람은 금과 은과 놋으로 만든 기물들을 가지고 왔다.
8:11 다윗왕은 이것을 다른 나라들을 정복하고 가져온 금은과 함께 야훼께 성별하여 바쳤다.
8:12 아람과 모압과 암몬 백성들과 불레셋과 아말렉에서 가져온 전리품에다 소바 왕 하다데젤한테서 가져온 전리품도 바쳤던 것이다.
8:13 다윗은 돌아 오는 길에 소금 골짜기에 사는 에돔 사람 만 팔천 명을 쳐죽여 이름을 떨치고,
8:14 에돔에도 주둔군을 두었다. 그래서 온 에돔이 다윗의 속국이 되었다. 다윗이 어디를 가든지 야훼께서는 그에게 승리를 안겨 주었다.
8:15 다윗은 온 이스라엘의 왕으로서 백성을 공평 무사하게 다스렸다.
8:16 군 총사령관에는 수루야의 아들 요압, 공보대신에는 하힐룻의 아들 여호사밧,
8:17 사제 일은 아히툽의 아들 사독과 아히멜렉의 아들 에비아달, 비서일은 스라야,
8:18 그렛 외인부대와 벨렛 외인부대의 지휘관에는 여호야다의 아들 브나야. 다윗의 아들들도 사제 일을 보았다.

8:9 하맛 왕 도이는 다윗이 하닷에셀과의 전투에서 승리했다는 말을 듣고
8:10 그를 축하하기 위해 자기 아들 요람을 보냈다. 이것은 하닷에셀과 도이가 서로 적대 관계에 있었기 때문이었다. 그는 다윗에게 은과 금과 놋 제품을 선물로 보냈다.
8:11 다윗은 이 모든 것을 시리아, 모든 암몬, 블레셋, 아말렉, 그리고 소바 왕 하닷에셀에게서 빼앗은 전리품과 함께 여호와께 바쳤다.

8:17 제사장은 아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉이었다. 그리고 궁중 서기관은 스라야였으며
8:18 그의 경호대장은 여호야다의 아들 브나야였고 궁중 자문관은 그의 아들들이었다.

8:9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,
8:10 he sent his son Joram to King David to greet him and congratulate him on his victory in battle over Hadadezer, who had been at war with Tou. Joram brought with him articles of silver and gold and bronze.
8:11 King David dedicated these articles to the LORD, as he had done with the silver and gold from all the nations he had subdued:
8:12 Edom and Moab, the Ammonites and the Philistines, and Amalek. He also dedicated the plunder taken from Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
8:13 And David became famous after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
8:14 He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became subject to David. The LORD gave David victory wherever he went.
8:15 David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right for all his people.
8:16 Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was recorder;
8:17 Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was secretary;
8:18 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and Pelethites; and David's sons were royal advisers.

8:9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
8:10 Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And [Joram] brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
8:11 Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
8:12 Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
8:13 And David gat [him] a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, [being] eighteen thousand [men].
8:14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
8:15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
8:16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah [was] over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud [was] recorder;
8:17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, [were] the priests; and Seraiah [was] the scribe;
8:18 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada [was over] both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.

8:14 And he put garrisons in Edom. In all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the LORD helped David wherever he went.
8:15 So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered justice and righteousness for all his people.
8:16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah [was] over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud [was] recorder.
8:17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar [were] priests, and Seraiah [was] secretary.
8:18 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.
