5:8~14
5:8 너희가 전에는 어둠이더니 이제는 주 안에서 빛이라 빛의 자녀들처럼 행하라
5:9 빛의 열매는 모든 착함과 의로움과 진실함에 있느니라
5:10 주를 기쁘시게 할 것이 무엇인가 시험하여 보라
5:11 너희는 열매 없는 어둠의 일에 참여하지 말고 도리어 책망하라
5:12 그들이 은밀히 행하는 것들은 말하기도 부끄러운 것들이라
5:13 그러나 책망을 받는 모든 것은 빛으로 말미암아 드러나나니 드러나는 것마다 빛이니라
5:14 그러므로 이르시기를 잠자는 자여 깨어서 죽은 자들 가운데서 일어나라 그리스도께서 너에게 비추이시리라 하셨느니라

5:8 여러분이 전에는 어둠이었으나, 지금은 주 안에서 빛입니다. 빛의 자녀답게 사십시오.
5:9 빛의 열매는 모든 선과 의와 진실입니다.
5:10 주님께서 기뻐하시는 일이 무엇인지를 분별하십시오.
5:11 여러분은 열매 없는 어둠의 일에 끼어 들지 말고, 오히려 그것을 폭로하십시오.
5:12 그들이 은밀히 하는 일들은 말하기조차 부끄러운 것입니다.
5:13 빛으로 말미암아 폭로되는 모든 것은, 드러나게 됩니다.
5:14 드러나는 것은 다 빛입니다. 그러므로 "잠자는 사람아 일어나라. 죽은 사람 가운데서 일어나라. 그리스도께서 너를 환히 비추실 것이다"하는 말씀이 있습니다.

5:8 여러분이 전에는 어둠의 세계에서 살았지만 지금은 주님을 믿고 빛의 세계에서 살고 있습니다. 그러니 빛의 자녀답게 살아야 합니다.
5:9 빛은 모든 선과 정의와 진실을 열매 맺습니다.
5:10 주님을 기쁘시게 하여 드리는 일이 무엇인지를 가려 내십시오.
5:11 그래서 열매를 맺지 못하는 어둠의 행위에 끼어들지 말고 오히려 그런 일을 폭로하십시오.
5:12 사람들은 그런 일들을 숨어서 하는데 그것들은 말하기조차 부끄러운 일들입니다.
5:13 모든 것은 폭로되면 빛을 받아 드러나고
5:14 빛을 받아 드러나면 빛의 세계에 속하게 됩니다. "잠에서 깨어나라. 죽음에서 일어나라. 그리스도께서 너에게 빛을 비추어주시리라" 는 말씀이 이 뜻입니다.

5:8 여러분이 전에는 어두움 속에 살았으나 이제는 주님을 믿고 빛 가운데 살고 있으니 빛의 자녀답게 살아야 합니다.
5:9 빛의 생활은 선하고 의롭고 진실하게 사는 것입니다.
5:10 그러므로 여러분은 주님을 기쁘시게 할 일이 무엇인지 살펴보십시오.
5:11 여러분은 열매 없는 어두움의 일에 끼어들지 말고 오히려 그런 일을 책망하십시오.
5:12 불순종하는 사람들이 몰래하는 짓들은 말하기도 부끄러운 일입니다.
5:13 그러나 모든 것은 빛에 의해 밝혀질 때 드러나기 마련입니다. 모든 것을 드러내는 것이 바로 빛이기 때문입니다.
5:14 그래서 성경에는 '잠자는 자여, 잠에서 깨어나 죽은 사람 가운데서 일어나라. 그리스도께서 네게 빛을 주실 것이다.' 라고 하였습니다.

5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
5:9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
5:10 and find out what pleases the Lord.
5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
5:12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
5:14 for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

5:9 (for the fruit of the light [consists] in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
5:10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
5:11 And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
5:12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
5:13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
5:14 For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."
